Training Hollow

This is where you come to train your apprentices. It is a nice sandy hollow perfect for practicing fighting moves or hunting techniques.

  4. "Hmm......first, let's try a move that will work on slower cats."

Tigerfang darted under Ravenpaw's belly and nipped him on his hind leg. He launched himself onto Ravenpaw's back, unbalancing the apprentice, and sending him rolling to the side.

" Now you try it on me."

  5. "Um, ok."

Ravenpaw swiftly darted under hi mentor's belly and bit hi hind leg. Then he lept on to Tigerfang's back, but couldn't unbalence him as easily, for Ravenpaw was smaller then Tigerfang. But with a bit of a push, Ravenpaw sent tigerfang on to his side.

    "How was that?"

  10. Tigerfang belly rakes Ravenpaw, and gets back up. He brings his paw down hard on Ravenpaw and then began raking his spine while he gripped Ravenpaw's shoulders with his forepaws.

  11. Moonbreeze padded into the training with Flamepaw trailing behind.

"Today, we're going to practice stalking. Now, this is a big difference between creeping up on a rabbit and creeping up on a mouse."

"So when hunting mice, step lightly."

    "Try it"

    -Moonbreeze

  12. Flamepaw crouched down and tried to step lightly, wobbling on all 4 paws.

    "How's this?"

    -Flamepaw

  13. "You stalk like a lumbering duck!" growled Moonbreeze. Try again, and concentrate!"

    -Moonbreeze

  14. "Sorry Moonbreeze." Flamepaw said. He tried again pushing all the weight up to his body. He crouched once again trying his best to impress his mentor.

  15. "Better. Now I want you to try catching real prey."

    -Moonbreeze

  16. Flamepaw scented the air. He heard a mouse scuttling and instinctivly crouched down. Flamepaw let all his weight out of his paws and glided toward the mouse, his belly fur nearly touching the grass. He pounced and landed on the mouse. Swiftly, Flamepaw bit its neck, making it go limp. He dropped the piece of prey at Moonbreeze's paws and sat.

    "Like that?"

  17. "Now you're like a real Cloverclan apprentice. Why don't you take this to the elder's den?"

    -Moonbreeze

  18. "Ok Moonbreeze!" replied Flamepaw. He raced over back to camp and into the elder's den.

  21. She purred at the new apprentices eagerness to start their training. "I don't know what Rowanfoot will be training you, Brightpaw, but he'll be here soon. Rainpaw, I'm going to teach you stalking first. Hunting is very important, much more important than fighting, but we'll get to that later. Just try to copy what I do," she says. Miststar practices stalking. "Now ou try, Rainpaw," she meows to her apprentice.

  22. ok!rainpaw stalks foward, her tail down, but she can't keep it from wigeling in the leafs as she stalks imaganary prey.this is harder then it looks!how do i keep my tail from making the leafs russel?she asks miststar.

    -rainpaw

    ReplyDelete
  23. She smiled. "Easy. Stick out your tail like a twig and heep it steady. If you keep it on the ground, the prey will hear you coming. They mainly rely on vibrations. Also, try crouching down more. Try aggain, your doing good."

    -Miststar

  26. "Leafpaw, today we are going to learn how to stalk a rabbit. Have you ever done that before?" Brookshadow asked her apprentice, remembering the day she taught her former apprentice, Lightclaw, that. "If you have, we can learn how to catch fish if you want," she added, deciding she would let Leafpaw have a choice.

  27. Icefrost padded into the Training Hollow, Tigerfang still on her mind. (read about it at the Sunshine Pool) She decided to do a little hunting, while waiting for Birchpaw to arrive. Icefrost crouched down, stalking a rabbit. The rabbit heard her movements and sped off, but Icefrost raced after it, determined to catch it. Once she was about a tail length away, she pounced, landing squarely on it's back. With one swift bite to the neck, Icefrost felt the rabbit go limp. A nice plump rabbit right at her paws was making her mouth water, but she kept her senses on the warrior code. She padded over back to the training hollow, and sat down, paws tucked underneath her, waiting for her apprentice to arrive.

  28. (It's not against the warrior code to eat it. Only if you are on a hunting patrol or haven't worked for the clan yet, but your going to train Birchpaw.)

    ReplyDelete
  29. (Oh...wait no! look at this I found in the warrior code. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.)

    ReplyDelete
  30. (No. That's not true. If you read the books, you'd know that.)

    ReplyDelete
  31. (....But I did. I'm waiting for Night Whispers to come out.)

    ReplyDelete
  32. actually Warriorcatlover92 is right i own that book, and you have to remember that in the books the apprentices sometimes break the code.most of the time the get punishments too.

  33. Ravenshadow padded into the Training Hollow with his apprentice, Sweetpaw. "Let's see, what will I teach you today?" he asked himself.

    ~>Ravenshadow

    ReplyDelete
  34. sweetpaw shruged her sholders."how about hunting?rainfall, and brightstreak are always telling me that hunting is one of the most importent things you need to learn."she told ravenshadow, eagerly.

    ~sweetpaw

    ReplyDelete
  35. "Hunting! Yes! Let's start with hunting, good idea. Now, first how about we learn different hunting techneques. Did you know you have to use a different techneque for each different kind of prey? For mice, you need to take all of the wait off of your feet, because the mice can feel you coming by the movement in the ground. Like this," Ravenshadow meowed to Sweetpaw. Then, he crouched and took all of the wait off his feet. After showing Sweetpaw how to hunt mice, he stood up. "Now, for rabbits you have to be as quick and silent as possible. Even the tiniest crackle of a dead leaf will scare a rabbit away. Like this," he said to his apprentice then showed her how to hunt rabbits. "Now, why don't we try to actually hunt. Do you smell any rabbits or mice, Sweetpaw?" he asked.

  36. sweetpaw sniffs the air,and nods."yes that way!" she points with her tail.eager to try a the crouch she'd just learned.

  38. sweetpaw spots the rabit a little further away, she crouches down and moving silently and swiftly tawards the rabit, once she's close enough she springs and before the rabit has time to react she bites his neck.she turns taward her mentor ,bring her rabit with her pads back tawards the hallow."was that ok she asks him?"remembering how she'd let her tail rusel the leaves for a moment.

  39. "That was great. Let's get back to camp, you can give that rabbit to the elders (give it to Dovecloud please). You did great today!" He padded out of the hollow, back to camp with Sweetpaw.

  40. "alright the second thing i want to teach you is fighting techniques.lets start with the back kick.judge your opponent's distence from you carefully, then lash out with your back legs, taking all your wait on your front paws.like this."hooneyfern did the back kick lashing out at an invisible enemey."you try now."she encouraged her apprentice.

    ~honeyfern

    ReplyDelete
  41. (I guess we can still train like normal after the fire?)
"Okay!" Rosepaw did a slightly wobbly imitation of Honeyfern's back kick. "Grr, that was no good!" she tried again and this time got it right, picturing her enemy flying and hitting a tree. "How was that?" she asked enthusiastically.
    ~Rosepaw

  42. [i guesse we can.]

"that was great!since you've learned that one pretty well, how about we head back to camp early to help out."she said already starting tawards camp.

  43. "Aw, okay." Rosepaw padded out after her mentor.

  44. *She sat there, watching the apprenties train and blinked.*

Maybe we shouldn't practice on fighting as much. I mean I hope we don't run into any battles. Do you mind working more on hunting techniques and defense moves? Don't worry, you are both doing great.

    *She purred.*
