Fernpaw nodded and looked at Bramblepaw with a loving gaze. "Yes, I thought," she said, "but I was wrong, I have you. Thank you, Bramblepaw," Fernpaw rubbed her cheek agenst Bramblepaw's and purred. She layed her head down and closed her eyes to sleep.

"Well...that WAS interesting...and awkward...but,...come to think of it, when I was heading toward the river oak earlier I saw Mistfire run off crying and Otterwhisker chasing her with a shocked and confused look on his face," Duskpaw whispered. "And I saw Mistfire looking sadly at the nursery," He added. "...oh why does everything around here have to be so dramatic and confusing!?" Duskpaw snorted. Before falling asleep he mumbled under his breath, "I just wanna get on with...*yawn* training..."

Though somewhere in her heart she still loves Otterwhisker, most of her love for him had been pushed out of the way when she realized, that a better match for her has been there the whole time. Fernpaw is not mad at Mistfire for "stealing" Otterwhisker from her anymore, for Fernpaw has a tom of her own now, and she feels more confident being with Bramblepaw, because she knows that she will be loved back.

Fernpaw looks and Bramblepaw, still curled un sleeping beside her. She gently licks is ear and purrs quietly, not waking Bramblepaw, just soothing him while he sleeps. Fernpaw rises to her feet, shakes the moss off her pelt, and stretches. She pads calmly out of the den, and to the fresh kill pile to get some breakfeast.

Fernpaw walked calmly over to a shady spot outside of the den to eat her breakfeast. The day was as sunny as always, but to Fernpaw it seemed brighter and the sunny air tasted sweeter. Fernpaw felt overflowing with happiness. All her trubles seemed to have just dissapeared. When she was done with her mouse, she stayed laying in the shady place, watching the day go on until she was needed for daily work or training.

Leafpaw blinked open her tired eyes. "I wonder how my first day of an apprentice will go." She slowly got up and padded out of the den and headed towards the fresh-kill pile. On the way, she noticed her denmate, Flamepaw. "Wow, he's sooo cute!" she thought.

Bramblepaw opened his eyes slowly, still tired from sleep. He suddenly thought about Fernpaw, and reviewed the time by the Sunshine Pool. He strolled out of the den and towards the fresh-kill pile, still thinking about her.

"Oooh! Okay!" she eagerly crept over to the leaf,oblivious to the tension between the two sisters. The leaf, which was twitching even though there was no breeze, looked very tempting. She carefully stalked towards it, creeping like Windpaw had told her. Then she suddenly pounced, pinning the leaf down with the claws out. She was shocked when she felt movement under the leaf, and discovered a mouse. Quickly, she bopped the mouse on the head with her paw and stunned it. Not knowing what else to do, she kept bopping it until it was dead. "Look!" she called to Windpaw and Willowpaw. "I caught a mouse! A real mouse! Look!!!"
